Since the initiation in 2005, International Forum (TEDA) on Chinese Automotive Industry Development has become an important communication platform for the players in automotive industry. With the aim of boosting the sustainable development of Chinese automotive industry, International Forum (TEDA) on Chinese Automotive Industry Development focuses on the discussions on strategic and perspective hotspots in the development of automotive industry with various modes, like plenary meeting, roundtable meeting, interactive discussion, summit meeting, brainstorm, subject discussion, and subject dialogue etc..
Development of Independent Brand
During the past nine years, the development of indigenous-brand automobiles has made great progress in terms of reliability, safety, and stability etc.. Their market shares have been increasing both in home and abroad (over 40% in home market in 2013 from 25% in 2005). The officials expressed the importance of conducting independent innovation and building brand images; the manufactures appealed the government to give more supports on the independent innovation; the experts suggested the manufacturers to explore the markets in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and global market, and they suggested the manufacturers to introduce technologies and increase the investments in R & D so as to improve the products' brand images and competitiveness.
The forum will continue to pay attention and give support to the indigenous brand automobiles and make contribution to China’s transition from "Auto Manufacturing" to "Auto Innovation". 
Auto Society and Environmental Protection
International Forum (TEDA) on Chinese Automotive Industry Development focuses on promoting the development of Green Automotive Industry. Many social problems, like waste of resources, environment pollution, and traffic congestions etc., have become more and more serious in recent years. The energy-saving and emission reduction, green environment protection, and build a harmonized auto society have attracted the attentions from the delegates.
The government officials introduced the upcoming national policies on reducing energy consumption, auto emissions, and improving fuel quality. The high-level executives with manufacturers recognized the importance of the environment protection and emission control and expressed their responsibilities; the industry experts introduced many relevant new experience and technologies both in home and abroad.
Development Strategy for New Energy Vehicles
The government' supports have boosted the rapid development and industrialization of new energy vehicles in recent years. All delegates at the forum have paid great attention to the development of new energy vehicles.
Wan Gang, the Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology introduced the prospective of the development of new energy vehicles and the government’s incentive policies toward them. Many hot topics in this area, such as the technology route, commercialization, the collaboration between the vehicle manufacturers and parts makers, were discussed at the forum. All these provided valuable reference to the decision makers.
Transition and Upgrading of Automotive Industry
Chinese auto production has kept a steady growth in recent years against growing at a rapid pace. Chinese automotive industry faces the change of growth pace and structure adjustment. All relevant topics, such as the overall planning, industry policies, standards and regulations, industry layout, technology introduction, independent innovations, merger and acquisitions, internationalization strategy, brand marketing, circular economy, auto finance, and telemetric etc., were discussed at the forum, providing a good reference for the healthy development of automotive industry.
International forum (TEDA) on Chinese automotive industry development has been reputed the Auto Davos and the Vane of the Development of Automotive Industry in the past 9 years. It will continue to follow the principal of boosting the sustainable development of Chinese automotive industry.
